DiPOLE Systems, a spinout from the UK’s Central Laser Facility (STFC), is developing and deploying world-leading lasers to drive innovation in advanced manufacturing, defence, security and energy. 

We are turning more than a decade of UK Government‑funded laser research into deployable, commercial systems. The company focuses on applications where reliability, throughput and integrity matter - working with partners to deliver solutions that operate outside controlled laboratory environments.

TECHNOLOGY

The DiPOLE concept enables laser systems of unprecedented energy, pulse-rate and efficiency. Following 15+ years of development DiPOLE laser systems are already installed and operational at three international research facilities across Europe and it underpins the CLF’s Extreme Photonics Applications Centre (EPAC) in the UK.

Our technology platform includes high energy nanosecond and femtosecond laser sources. We are developing a secondary source module that can be used for advanced imaging, radiation hardening and more. Finally, we are exploring very high energy (kJ+) concepts for fusion research.
